Sustainable Development Goals
HEART (Living Right)
The Company shall ensure business transparency for all stakeholders by reporting on corporate governance which emphasizes transparency, fair trade, business ethics and sustainable development through reports which have received verification and independent assurances in accordance with international standards.
Commitment : Being recognized as a leading organization for good corporate governance.
Goal No.1 : The Company shall disclose corporate governance in compliance with the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) framework for all companies by 2020.
HUMAN RIGHTS AND LABOR PRACTICES
The Company shall examine Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPBHR) in order to respect and uphold human rights; provide appropriate communication channels to protect human rights; and manage and accept diversity and inclusion.
Commitment : Being recognized as an organization that respects human rights by all stakeholders.
Goal No.2 : The Company shall examine Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) in accordance with UNGPBHR for all companies by 2020.
LEADERSHIP & HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT
The Company will develop employees to have knowledge and needed skills to support sustainable business operations; develop leaders to have vision to manage changes; and develop business partners to have knowledge and needed skills to support sustainable business operations together.
Commitment : Being recognized as a leading organization in developing human resources throughout the value chain to have knowledge and capability to manage the business sustainably.
Goal No.3 : 100% of the Company’s leaders and employees have attended the training program to develop knowledge and understanding of sustainability by 2010.
The Company shall develop a process to build relationships with all stakeholders and understand the needs and expectations of each group in order to effectively respond to each group. In addition, the Company shall create awareness among all employees within the organization towards all stakeholders and provide procedures to investigate grievances from stakeholders.
Commitment : Being an organization trusted by all stakeholders whether local, national or international (as appropriate to the business).
Goal No.4 : The Company has a working process for stakeholder engagement for all companies by 2020.
The Company is aware of the importance of anti-corruption and is committed to anti-corruption by implementing the “Anti-Corruption Guidelines”. All employees and critical Tier 1suppliers will follow the Anti-Corruption Guidelines in adhering to the Anti-Corruption Policy in order to prevent, monitor and respond to any corruption in accordance with the Company’s commitment.
Commitment : Being trusted by all stakeholders as a corruption-free organization.
Goal No. 5 : The Company is free from corruption in all functions of the organization and critical Tier 1 suppliers.
HEALTH (Living Well)
The Company shall create social value by supporting occupations and means of earning a living for farmers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and product and service suppliers; creating occupational opportunities; and improving the quality of life for vulnerable groups (groups in society that need special attention).
Commitment : Being recognized as an organization that supports occupations and means of earning a living for farmers and SMEs; and improves the quality of life for vulnerable groups in society.
Goal No.6 : 10,000 farmers or SMEs and vulnerable persons have received support for occupations and means of earning a living by 2020.
HEATH AND WELL-BEING
The Company shall develop new products and services which emphasize health, nutrition and well-being. In addition, the Company shall promote the nutrition facts label for food products as well as the development of new services, projects or activities that promote good health and well-being, continually.
Commitment : Being an organization that helps improve the health and well-being of people in society.
Goal No.7 : Increase new products and services which emphasize health, nutrition and well-being to 10% by 2020.
The Company shall provide and support children, youth and adults with education opportunities and proficiency development including technical and occupational skills for employment, good jobs and being an entrepreneur.
Commitment : Being recognized as organization that promotes access to education, knowledge and proficiency for livelihood.
Goal No.8 : 100,000 farmers, children, youths and adults have the opportunity to access education and develop needed proficiency by 2020.
The Company shall increase value innovation from new products and cost savings from innovation in terms of production and processes; foster a culture of innovation in the organization; and support innovation creation jointly with external stakeholders.
Commitment : Being recognized as a leading innovative organization in the areas of product development, new services and operational development in order to support positive impacts for society and the environment.
Goal No.9 : Increase value innovation in terms of products, services and processes by 50% by 2020, compared to the year 2016.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
The Company shall give importance to the management of occupational safety, health and environment for all employees and contractors, in the operations of all activities.
Commitment : Being recognized as a leading organization in the management of occupational safety, health and environment.
Goal No.10 : The Company’s personnel are protected by occupational safety, health and environment equivalent to international standards by 2020.
HOME (Living Together)
CLIMATE CHANGE MANAGEMENT
The Company shall reduce GHG (Green House Gas) emissions by minimizing use of energy consumption per unit of production; increasing the ratio of renewable energy used; minimizing waste disposal to landfills; and reducing the use of plastic and paper. In addition, the Company will encourage farmers, business partners and suppliers to minimize environmental impacts and adapt for climate change; promote environmental impact assessment associated with the life cycle of products and services; and support a program to handle natural disasters caused by climate change together with stakeholders.
Commitment : Being recognized as an organization that fights against climate change in collaboration with business partners and leading global organizations.
Goal No.11 : Reduce GHG emissions per unit of production by 10% by 2020, compared to the year 2015.
All companies shall minimize water consumption per unit of production; have risk management for water shortages; increase the ratio of water recycling; and support access to available water resources for communities as appropriate.
Commitment : Being an organization that strongly commits to minimize negative impacts from water utilization throughout the supply chain.
Goal No.12 : Lower water consumption per unit of production by 10% by 2020, compared to the year 2015.
ECOSYSTEM AND BIODIVERSITY PROTECTION
The Company shall evaluate raw material procurement from sources or products from sources that do not destroy forests and marine natural resources. The Company shall also support a preservation and rehabilitation program for natural habitats (i.e., forests, watersheds, seas and coasts) as appropriate.
Commitment : Being an organization that has a plan for ecosystem management in order to protect, preserve and rehabilitate natural resources and biodiversity.
Goal No.13 : 100 % of key raw materials have passed the assessment to procure from sources that do not destroy forests and marine natural resources by 2020.
RESPONSIBLE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
The Company shall conduct sustainability assessment with all key business partners in order to procure critical raw materials or products from responsible and traceable sources. In addition, the Company shall support the development of all business partners in order to grow together sustainably.
Commitment : Being an organization that closely works with business partners and suppliers in raw material sourcing and product procurement in order to achieve sustainable development and continual improvement.
Goal No.14 : 100 % of critical Tier 1 suppliers have been assessed on sustainability and traceability by 2020.
LOCAL CONFLICT MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY ACCEPTANCE
The Company has a systematic process for discussions and relationship building in order to create better understanding and minimize conflicts between the organization and society. The Company conducts social impact assessment and prepares for these risks. In addition, the Company gives importance to investing in communities and has procedures for handling complaints concerning social impact and guidelines for resolution.
Commitment : Being an organization that receives community acceptance in all areas where it operates.
Goal No. 15 : In 2020, the Company shall have no significant conflicts for all business operations and in all areas where it operates.
